You picked me one fine August day
And decided your name should be Rai
Your patience and love
Were shoulders above
All others - it just was your way
Rai - I will always hold dear
My memories still keep you near
I miss you my friend
My heart will never quite mend
At times I'm still shedding tears
Your soul and spirit were great
But I guess I will just have to wait
To hold my black cat
I wish you were back
But we'll meet at the Rainbow Bridge gate

About Us
We are first and foremost pet lovers and pet owners. All of our pets are shelter rescue animals with special needs. Over the years we've loved and lost many pets, yet we know our lives are richer surrounded by animals. Since we don't have enough room for all of the world's homeless pets, we've opened our home as pet fosters.
As animal shelter volunteers, we saw the need for sick or young animals to receive more attention than they could waiting at the shelter for their second chance and a "forever home". As pet fosters, we have a chance to help these animals get a fresh start. Of course they all have a special place in our hearts, and we know there comes that most difficult of a time giving them up for adoption. It's very rewarding to know that we've given all of our fosters a second chance to enjoy a new family and live a long and healthy life.
About Raider
Raider was a cat who's head was too small for his body. I believe he needed the bigger body to hold his huge loving heart, and old soul. Raider was single-minded in his focus, it was "love me and then I'm happy".
He never met a lap that he didn't like, and he felt it was his duty to make you slow down your day and pet him until he was through (which often meant never). Rai was a unique cat who's wise behavior would leave you to believe he might be a "special needs" kitty, but in reality he just moved at a slower pace to enjoy each moment of every day. This was just one of Rai's many little life lessons he shared with us.
Not a day goes by without a thought of Raider in our hearts and minds.
